1 Peter 3 11-30-15 — November 30, 2015

1 Peter 3 11-30-15

1 Peter 3:4-5 You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. [5] This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They put their trust in God and accepted the authority of their husbands.

In the previous verse, Christian women are told to not worry about fancy hairstyles or clothing. Instead, they are to “clothe themselves with the beauty that comes from within.” Wives are to respect the authority of the husband. I don’t believe this is inequality. Instead, it’s that husbands and wives cannot be compared! We have two completely different roles.

1 Peter 2 11-29-15 — November 29, 2015

1 Peter 2 11-29-15

1 Peter 2:13-14 For the Lord’s sake, submit to all human authority—whether the king as head of state, or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right.

We are to always submit to our government authority. I believe that sooner or later the government will begin to regulate how we worship. Obviously, we should still worship, but if they say they are going to arrest us…we shouldn’t put up a yelling and screaming fight. What kind of example does that set???
Obey authorities today. 👮

1 Peter 2 11-28-15 — November 28, 2015

1 Peter 2 11-28-15

1 Peter 2:9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

God has chosen us to be a part of His family. We are to be sanctified through Him. Let’s let Him. What a thought!?!?

1 Peter 1 11-27-15 — November 27, 2015

1 Peter 1 11-27-15

1 Peter 1:17 And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during your time here as “temporary residents.”

Here is why we want to be holy. God loves us unconditionally, but He will not show favoritism to anyone. We try must live in a way that pleases Him.

1 Peter 1 11-26-15 – Thanksgiving Day — November 26, 2015

1 Peter 1 11-26-15 – Thanksgiving Day

1 Peter 1:7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

It’s not easy following Christ. He never promised it would always be all peachy and rainbows. There will be trials in this life. Know that God has let them happen for a purpose.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

Job 5:19 He will deliver you from six troubles; in seven no evil shall touch you.

Have a great day!! 🙏🦃

James 5 11-25-15 — November 25, 2015

James 5 11-25-15

James 5:8You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.

I believe that this is true now more than it ever has been before. As believers, we cannot lose hope! Jesus, will come again at the appointed time.
Philippians 3:20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.
Live with anticipation/patience today!! 🙏

James 5 11-24-15 — November 24, 2015

James 5 11-24-15

James 5:2-3b Your wealth is rotting away, and your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags. [3] …This corroded treasure you have hoarded will testify against you on the day of judgment.

Is wealth in itself a bad thing?? I don’t think so!! However, it can become a bad thing. We cannot allow wealth to become the center of our lives. That allows pride to seep in.
2 Corinthians 9:7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” (Prov. 22:8)
Live generously today! 💁

James 4 11-23-15 — November 23, 2015

James 4 11-23-15

James 4:13-14  Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” [14] How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.

I don’t think that God is trying to say that we can’t make plans for the future. This is saying, however, that we cannot assume that God’s plan is the same. We have to be ready to do His will, no matter the cost.

James 4 11-22-15 — November 22, 2015

James 4 11-22-15

James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Amen! If we look to God, Satan can hold no power over us. We must turn away from what looks good in the moment…it’s hard, I know. However–
Let’s resist the devil thru worship (💒) today!!!!

James 3 11-20-15 — November 21, 2015

James 3 11-20-15

Sorry everyone, I missed a day. I was feeling under the weather! 🤒

James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.

Our tongues are more powerful than we realize. The old saying, “Sticks and Stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” isn’t true! Words do hurt, that’s why we must guard our tongue.

Proverbs 12:18-19 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. [19] Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Ephesians 4:29a Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up….

I love Jesus and playing dress up.
