Galatians 3 12-31-15

Galatians 3:2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?

‭‭Here’s the big question!!! We know the answer-“by hearing with faith.” However, the Galatians had forgotten this and were trying to twist the Gospel into a works-based story.

The bottom line: We cannot save ourselves through works. We need Jesus.
🎵”This is how we know love; not because we first loved You, But because You first loved us. Even in our sin, mercy without end Came to redeem us all and to set the captive free. You have shown us with a cross How far love would go. This is how we know.”🎵

Galatians 2 12-30-15

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

This is my favorite verse. I just have to talk about it. This is a daily thing, we must die to ourselves and live in Christ.
Let’s make a goal to live in Christ today!!

Galatians 2 12-29-15 — December 29, 2015

Galatians 2 12-29-15

Galatians 2:16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

The law of the OT was perfect. Because it was perfect, we could never follow every law that God gave to the Jews. Luckily, Jesus was sent for all people, not just the Jews. We can be saved through faith now, because our works will NEVER be good enough!
Aren’t you glad Jesus fulfilled the law?

Galatians 1 12-28-15 — December 28, 2015

Galatians 1 12-28-15

Galatians 1:11-12 For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel. [12] For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

Here Paul is admonishing the Galatians for twisting the Gospel. He explains that the Gospel He preaches is the Gospel of Christ!
Paul did not receive the truth from any man…and the same should be said about us. A pastor may have presented, but we are not saved by going forward, raising our hand, or filling out a card. We are saved by the divine revelation of the Holy Spirit convicting us! Let’s preach the truth today!!

Galatians 1 12-27-15 — December 27, 2015

Galatians 1 12-27-15

Galatians 1:4 Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.‭‭

Paul got right to the point for the introduction to this letter. It seems a little straightforward to present the Gospel in the 4th verse, doesn’t it???? I don’t think so. Paul knew that–if the Galatians needed to understand anything–this was it! Jesus died for us, and it was NOT an afterthought. It was in the plan all along.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Ephesians 6 12-26-15 — December 26, 2015

Ephesians 6 12-26-15

Ephesians 6:23 Peace be with you, dear brothers and sisters, and may God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you love with faithfulness.

This is my prayer for today, the day after Christmas. I pray that we will have a peace beyond all understanding, and that we will love others faithfully like Jesus. Live for Him today!

Ephesians 6 12-25-15 — December 25, 2015

Ephesians 6 12-25-15

Ephesians 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

‭When we are tempted and going through those hard times. We need to remember that God is always listening. He is always there for us and He will never leave us. We don’t have to go to a certain building like they did in the Old Testament. We little spirit mini temples now! ☺️

1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
Merry Christmas!

CPU/HSU

What a great analogy as to how we need to let the Holy Spirit control our every thought and action. The Spirit IS our connection to our Heavenly Father, of course!

Computers have a CPU, which is a central processing unit. It manages the data in the memory. As you work in a program, the CPU is constantly creating, editing, moving and storing data and files as needed. The CPU monitors the general health of your computer and does periodic updates and scans.

Correlation:

Christians have the Holy Spirit, which is OUR central processing unit. He manages the data in our memory. As you read the Scriptures and walk through life, He is constantly calling things to our attention, bringing to mind memory verses from the Bible, warning us of lurking evil spirits (and their haunts), and speaking to our hearts as needed. The Holy Spirit monitors our general health and our spiritual health, and does periodic updates and scans as we read and ponder Scripture, listen to sermons and music, sit under teachers, etc.

But, wait! There’s more!!!

Ephesians 6 12-24-15

Ephesians 6:13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

‭‭Verses 13-17 describe the armor of God, does this mean that we should wear armor around all day?? I think not. Instead, this means that we should cover ourselves in the qualities of the Holy Spirit.

  • Vs. 14 Belt of Truth, Armor of Righteousness
  • Vs. 15 Shoes of Peace
  • Vs. 16 Shield of Faith
  • Vs. 17 Helmet of Salvation, Sword of the Spirit

Live in His armor today!

Ephesians 5 12-23-15 — December 23, 2015

Ephesians 5 12-23-15

Ephesians 5:29-30 No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. And we are members of his body.

Verse 29 makes me laugh every time I read it, but it is true. We take care of ourselves, right?!!? I think so….this means we should help one another because we are all members of the body of Christ!
Proverbs 11:17 A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.

Romans 12:5 So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
