Philippians 2 1-31-16 — January 31, 2016

Philippians 2 1-31-16

Philippians 2:16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

There are so many temptations and people who can lead us off the path of Christ. We must hold fast to Jesus and God’s Word in order to stand firm in our faith. Don’t work in vain, rely on Jesus!

Let’s live in His word today!

Philippians 2 1-30-16 — January 30, 2016

Philippians 2 1-30-16

Philippians 2:10-11 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

One day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord! I can’t wait for this day to come…but notice the word, “every” This means that one day even those who never believed will realize that He is Lord! I pray that you trust in His word today!

Live with anticipation for the day that we will see Him in His glory! ✝

Philippians 2 1-29-16 — January 29, 2016

Philippians 2 1-29-16

Philippians 2:6-7 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, [7] but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

When Jesus came down to die on that cross, He came down as a servant. He was not treated like God;He was not treated fairly. Because of this, we should think about when we are treated unfairly, and say, “Jesus was not treated fairly, so why do I deserve fair treatment?”

Let’s live in the eternal perspective today!

Philippians 1 1-28-16 — January 28, 2016

Philippians 1 1-28-16

Philippians 1:29 For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for His sake,

Yay! We get to suffer for Christ! Aren’t you so excited???? I’m going to be honest….suffering does not sound like a good time. However, we are called to allow Him to live through us.

James 1:2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds.

Romans 5:3 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing it [our sufferings] produces endurance.

Philippians 1 1-27-16 — January 27, 2016

Philippians 1 1-27-16

Philippians 1:22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.

Paul had struggles just like us! He couldn’t decide if he wanted to live in selfish ambitions or in alignment in the HS. Who will you choose?

Lord God Omniscient, give me wisdom this day to worship and work aright and be well-pleasing to You. Lord, interpret Yourself to me more and more in Your fullness and beauty.

Prayer from “My Utmost for His Highest” Youversion Reading Plan.

Philippians 1 1-26-16 — January 26, 2016

Philippians 1 1-26-16

Philippians 1:17 The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment.

There are many people today who proclaim the Gospel for selfish motives. We can do many good things in our life, but God always sees our heart. He knows our true thoughts and motives. We need to proclaim the Gospel with a pure mind. Let’s go out today with clean motives. 🙌

Philippians 1 1-25-16 — January 25, 2016

Philippians 1 1-25-16

Philippians 1:3-4 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, [4] always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,

This is my prayer for you and many others everyday! I thank God for you and what you do through Him, and I pray that you would be filled with a joy and peace beyond comprehension/understanding!

Ephesians 6 1-24-16 — January 24, 2016
Ephesians 6 1-23-16 — January 23, 2016

Ephesians 6 1-23-16

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

When we are fighting Satan, we have to understand that we are not just fighting against people. We are fighting against spiritual forces. Because of this, we need to rely on God to help us beat Satan. We can’t do it alone!

Ephesians 6 1-22-16 — January 22, 2016

Ephesians 6 1-22-16

Ephesians 6:1-2 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. [2] “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise.

Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”

God has given us our earthly parents to help guide us throughout our childhood, and we need to respect them! Let’s live honoring all authorities today!
