Psalm 9  7-30-16 — July 30, 2016

Psalm 9  7-30-16

Psalm 9:6-7  The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins; their cities you rooted out; the very memory of them has perished. [7]  But the Lord sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice,

‭‭We must remember, this whole earth is finite. It will not last forever….the pain, anguish, and suffering here will not prevail. But as verse 7 says, The Lord will remain forever! He will be on His throne forevermore! Nothing will beat God. Put your faith in that, put your trust in that. Jesus is always with us. Worship God because of His awesome power, and remember, we believers will get to go there with Him one day!

Psalm 9:11  Sing praises to the Lord, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples his deeds!

Psalm 8  7-29-16 — July 29, 2016

Psalm 8  7-29-16

Psalm 8:1, 3-4  O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.

[3] When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, [4]  what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Psalm 8 is all about the majesty and glory of God. I wonder if we realize that we should be honored to be His children. God is mighty and far about us in wisdom, power, love, holiness, and more. But He still invited us to be in relationship with Him through Jesus and the Holy Spirit! I don’t know about you, but I’m honored! We are God’s children; He loves us as such. He is mindful of man! After all….

🎶Who am I that You are mindful of me?That You hear me when I call, Is it true that You are thinking of me? How you Love me, It’s Amazing, so amazing, it’s amazing

I am a friend of God, I am a friend of God, I am a friend of God, He calls me friend!🎶

Psalm 7  7-28-16 — July 28, 2016

Psalm 7  7-28-16

Psalm 7:1  O Lord my God, in you do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers and deliver me,

Are we taking refuge in the Lord? Jesus is the only one who can fulfill all of our desires. God loves us and cares for us. Our ways are not even close to His. He wants us to have a relationship, where we are growing closer to Him everyday! Take refuge in Him when the world does not agree with what you have said. No matter what happens in this world, the struggles we go through; God is here. Ready to fight  for and protect you! Lift up praise for this!

Psalm 7:17  I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.‭‭

Psalm 6  7-27-16 —

Psalm 6  7-27-16

Psalm 6:2  Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing; heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.

‭‭I really want to keep it simple….I have learned so much about how to grow my leadership. And the easiest way to do that…rely on Jesus. You cannot do it alone. Jesus is your power source. Pray to the Father for love, comfort, and peace. Remember, God can use you no matter your past. Those experiences can be used for good! God works in the midst of trial!

Psalm 5  7-26-16 — July 26, 2016

Psalm 5  7-26-16

Psalm 5:3  In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

Pray this morning: Father, open my heart to hearing your voice. You are a mighty God who has saved me. Give me eyes, ears, and a heart to hear Your voice above all else. You are an awesome God. Thank you for loving and listening to me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I am at a leadership conference in Edmond, OK. I arrived yesterday, and will stay until tomorrow afternoon. I am praying for mighty things to be done by God because He hears our voices! Remember…….Psalm 5:12  Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Psalm 4  7-25-16 — July 25, 2016

Psalm 4  7-25-16

Psalm 4:1,4  Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have given me relief when I was in distress. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer!

[4] Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Selah.
‭‭What a great prayer David has written in the form of Psalm 4. I want to focus on verse 4…anger! It is okay to have feelings of anger, it is a natural emotion. However, we must learn to lean on Jesus so that we do not sin in our anger! And when David says to “ponder….and be silent,” he does not mean let your anger simmer and then boil over. He means that we should give it all to God! Forgive and have joy!

Psalm 4:7  You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.

Psalm 3  7-24-16 — July 24, 2016

Psalm 3  7-24-16

Psalm 3:3-4  But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. [4] I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah.

This Psalm is about protection from the Lord….and it is actually one of my favorite choir songs. Trust in Jesus for protection today……..and check out “Thou Oh Lord” by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir on YouTube.

Thou Oh Lord – Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
Above all, remember Psalm 3:8, Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah.

Psalm 2  7-23-16 — July 23, 2016

Psalm 2  7-23-16

Psalm 2:2-3  The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together against the LORD and against his anointed one. [3] “Let us break their chains,” they cry, “and free ourselves from slavery to God.”

Psalm 2 can apply to the current political situation in the United States, and it can apply to our own lives! Polictians, as well as ourselves, may not be sitting around saying, “Let’s disobey God’s commands today,” but it is certainly what we are doing! We as a nation, are calling the statutes of God chains that are holding us back, and we are trying to break free. However, we have failed to realize that in Christ we are free! Let us who are saved remember that we have hope in Jesus, we know who wins in the end!

And don’t worry God is not thrown off by the people’s disobedience….

Psalm 2:4-6  But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them. [5] Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury. [6] For the Lord declares, “I have placed my chosen king [David, or Jesus] on the throne in Jerusalem, on my holy mountain.”

‭‭The king mentioned in verse 6 can refer to David or Jesus. Applying the chapter to current times….it means Jesus!

Psalm 1  7-22-16 — July 22, 2016

Psalm 1  7-22-16

Psalm 1:1  Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.

‭‭Psalm 1 contrasts the ways of the wicked and the righteous….

The Righteous:

  • Do not follow the wicked’s advice. (Verse 1)
  • Do not join in with mockers.     (Verse 1)
  • Delight in the law of the Lord.  (Verse 2)
  • Meditate on the Word day and night. (Verse 2)
  • They bear fruit in all seasons, and the leaves will never wither.     (Verse 3)

However the Wicked:

  • Are like worthless chaff scattered by the wind. (Verse 4)
  • Will be condemned at the Judgement. (Verse 5)
  • Have no place among the godly. (Verse 5)

For…….Psalm 1:6  For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

Remember, that we are all wicked by ourselves. Through Jesus, we have been made righteous. Also know, that verse 5 doesn’t mean that we can’t minister to them. I interpret verse 5 as talking about who we hang around with….our friends!‭‭

John 17:20-26  7-21-16 — July 21, 2016

John 17:20-26  7-21-16

Jesus finishes His prayer to the Father:

John 17:20-21, 25-26  “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. [21] I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

[25] O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. [26] I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”

Jesus not only prayed for His current disciples, but He also prayed for all believers…US! Jesus prayed for you and me! Wow! His love is so obvious and true! Verse 21 discusses the oneness that we will have through the Spirit, not necessarily in all things…..Verse 25 and 26 are the concluding statements for us! The Father has been to revealed to us. And now we have the Spirit to stay in touch with Him. Pray….truly talk to Him today.
