Psalm 36  8-31-16 — August 31, 2016

Psalm 36  8-31-16

Psalm 36:10-11  Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart! [11] Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

I love reading the Psalms of David. I pray for a mindset and a “heart-set” like his! In Psalm 36, David worships the Lord for who He is‭‭. He also prays for God to protect Him from sin. Let us have the same prayer today:

“Heavenly Father, I praise You for Your love towards us. You are an amazing God! Thank You for loving us even in the depths of our sin. Father, I pray that You would remove my desire to sin, sanctify me. I pray that You would help me stay away from sinful things, so that I am not tempted. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Psalm 35  8-30-16 — August 30, 2016

Psalm 35  8-30-16

Psalm 35:27-28  Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, “Great is the Lord, who delights in the welfare of his servant!” [28] Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long.

Although David was asking God for vengeance against his enemy, ‭‭He knew that he needed to humble himself before God! Through Christ, we know that we are to repay our enemies with love and kindness. We have learned a new way to handle situations of trial! Pray for Christ to give you a heart to be like Christ today!

Psalm 33:16-19, 20-22 8-28-16 — August 28, 2016

Psalm 33:16-19, 20-22 8-28-16

Psalm 33:16-19  The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. [17] The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. [18] Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, [19] that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.

If we are in a relationship with the Lord, we can be confident that He is with us! Our lives will not be perfect, and things will not always go as planned for us! But God is in the midst of all situations in our life, whether good or bad!‭‭

Psalm 33:20-22  Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. [21] For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. [22] Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

‭‭God and His love is always there! Trust in Him today. Worship Him for His love for you in church today!

Psalm 33:12-15  8-27-16 — August 27, 2016

Psalm 33:12-15  8-27-16

Psalm 33:12-15  Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! [13] The Lord looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; [14] from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, [15] he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds.

Verse 12 is NOT discussing America! America is not the chosen nation, Israel is! However, all Gentile believers are in the category with Israel. We have been saved! Verse 13-15 continue in the theme of God’s power. He is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient!

Deuteronomy 7:6  For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

Aren’t you thankful that we have been given the chance to have a relationship with God? He loves us!

Psalm 33:10-11  8-26-16 — August 26, 2016

Psalm 33:10-11  8-26-16

Psalm 33:10-11  The LORD frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. [11] But the LORD’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken.

‭‭Our God is awesome! He is omniscient, and omnipresent. He is everywhere all the time! Past, present, and future! He is not bound by time. Two different times for me, is the same time to God! Crazy, right?!?! It just shows how powerful and mighty our God is! Look at these verses:

Jeremiah 23:24  “Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?” declares the LORD “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the LORD.

Proverbs 15:13  The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Watching the evil and the good.

1 Kings 8:27  But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, how much less this house which I have built!

Psalm 33:6-9  8-25-16 — August 25, 2016

Psalm 33:6-9  8-25-16

Psalm 33:6-9  The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. [7] He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. [8] Let the whole world fear the LORD, and let everyone stand in awe of him. [9] For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command.

‭‭The creation account in Genesis is one of the most important passages in the Bible. It shows that God is omnipotent! God is all powerful, and He has the power to help us! We live for Him, through Him! We can’t do it alone!

Isaiah 14:27  The LORD of Heaven’s Armies has spoken— who can change his plans? When his hand is raised, who can stop him?

‭‭

Psalm 33  8-23-16 — August 23, 2016

Psalm 33  8-23-16

Psalm 33:1-3  Let the godly sing for joy to the LORD; it is fitting for the pure to praise him. [2] Praise the LORD with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. [3] Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy.

‭‭As a vocalist and instrumentalist in worship, I hold these verse near and dear to my heart. This Psalm confirms the use of music, especially instruments, in our worship services. I LOVE verse 3. Our music will never be perfect, but we certainly can always play our best to honor God! I pray that you have an attitude of worship today. Our Father is an awesome God!

Psalm 32  8-22-16 — August 22, 2016

Psalm 32  8-22-16

Psalm 32:1-5  Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! [2] Yes, what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty! [3] When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. [4] Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Selah. [5] Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the LORD.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Selah.

‭‭Thank God for sending His Son Jesus! I am not, nor will I be a perfect person as long as I am living. But I have a God who forgives me through the blood of Jesus. The spotless Lamb! I am so thankful the God sent Jesus to Earth for all of us. Now, the question is whether or not you will accept His gift or not? Then, will you live for Him or take advantage of grace? I have made it my goal to live for Him the rest of my days, but I sure am glad he gives us mercy and grace!

Psalm 31  8-21-16 — August 21, 2016

Psalm 31  8-21-16

This Psalm is about experiencing the Lord’s presence:

Psalm 31:16  Let your favor shine on your servant. In your unfailing love, rescue me.

‭‭Are we intentional in seeking His presence daily? Through worship, prayer, and reading His word? I pray that our Lord would give us all discipline to seek His presence everyday!

Psalm 31:21  Praise the LORD, for he has shown me the wonders of his unfailing love. He kept me safe when my city was under attack.

Worship Jesus corporately today! We GET to go to church today!

Psalm 29-30  8-20-16 — August 20, 2016

Psalm 29-30  8-20-16

Psalm 29:10-11  The LORD rules over the floodwaters. The LORD reigns as king forever. The LORD gives his people strength. The LORD blesses them with peace.

‭‭Our God is for us! This concept is something that I have trouble comprehending. God loves us and fights for us even though we have done so many things that go against Him and His will for our lives!

Psalm 30:3  You brought me up from the grave, O LORD. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.

‭‭Ultimately, He loves us so much that He saved us from death! Are you thankful? God has given us a new life, and we are new beings! We aren’t better versions of our old selves. We are new creations! I am thankful for the salvation and the restoration through Christ. Join me in praising His name today!

2 Corinthians 5:17   This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
